Shotgun Sight for Picatinny Rail
picatinny fiber optic sight
This is the SGS-200 picatinny fiber optic sight.
The picatinny rail mount has some awesome features (please watch the movie below).
What is this picatinny fibre optic sight supplied with?
The picatinny fiber optic sight is supplied with 2 colours of fibre optics Red & Green.
As shown below, the optics can be changed in seconds.
This sight also solves cross eye dominance:
Solving cross eye dominance is critical to your success as a shooter. But how does this picatinny fiber optic sight sight solve cross eye dominance?
How is it done?
In essence we "force" the shooter to use the correct eye. That sounds a bit severe but the shooter won't even know its happening.
What is the correct eye? Well that depends on what shoulder you mount the gun on, not what your dominant eye is.
If you mount your gun on the right shoulder, the only eye to do the aligning will be the right eye, irrespective of whether your right eye is dominant or not.
BUT, if you have both eyes open and your left eye is dominant, that will be the aligning eye.
The exact opposite will happen if you mount the gun on the left shoulder.
The reason this happens is simple, with both eyes open, each eye can see the bead, but one of those eye will see it very much clearer and distinctly (that will be the dominant eye), the other (non dominant eye will ignore it). If the dominant eye is NOT the eye on the same side you mount the gun, that is what causes the Perceived hit Versus Actual hit.

To solve this problem, all that is required is the hide the bead from the from the other eye. The "other" eye could have been the dominant eye, but what is now doing the aligning is the "correct eye".
As you can see in the image below, the fibre optic is buried deep inside the sight body. You can only see the fibre optic if you look axially into the body. The eye nearest the shoulder the gun is mounted is the only eye that "can" look axially into the sight, the other eye is prevented from viewing the fibre optic because the Sight Body obscures it.
So, when shooting with both eyes open, you will only see one image of the fibre optic, irrespective of what shoulder you mount the gun on and irrespective of whether you are left or right eye dominant. It will always be the "correct eye" that does the alignment.
The graphic below will show you exactly what each eye sees.
The SGS-200 sight is ambidextrous!
Many shooters are aware they are cross eye dominant and to try to solve the problem by closing one eye. As mentioned earlier, this caused another massive problem. What they have done is use the correct eye for aligning but they are now without the ability to judge distance and speed having lost the phenomenon of stereoscopic vision.
Shooting a moving target requires 2 imperative attributes:
A) The ability to judge distance,
B) The ability to judge speed.
There is only one way you can achieve both those attributes and that is to shoot with both eyes open.
Depending on the distance and speed of the moving target will effect the amount of "lead" and "bullet drop" allowance you must make.
Even if you were shooting a static target, the error cross eye dominance causes down range is considerable.
Assuming the Bead is 650 mm from your eye (at the end of the barrel) and your left eye spacing "interpupillary distance" is 64 mm, that subtends an angle of error of 5.5 degrees.
At a range of 30 Metres, this equates to an error of 2.9 Metres (114"). So, if you know you are cross eye dominant, and you want to keep your stereoscopic vision, these Fibre Optic Shotgun Sights from CADtec3D is your game changing moment!
CADtec3D supply several Shotgun Sights that have other special attributes.
- Shotgun Front Sights from CADtec3D will ensure you have an effective gun mount, and improve your aim!
- And allows the shooter to balance the availability of ambient light with accuracy by introducing a range of Sight Chokes!
- And Sights from CADtec3D will never fall of your Vent Rib like some can and do!
# Shotgun Sight for Picatinny Rail has some very useful features. The release lever can not accidentally be released. You have to depress a safety catch before it is possible to loosen the release lever.
# The clamping pressure can be fine tuned to your picatinny rail dimensions. Also, the clamping pressure adjuster can not unwind due to vibration. Please see the safety feature in the image below.
