Yes, it does look very similar to the SGS-100 Mk1 but it has a very big difference, this Mk2 version is cheaper that the Mk1 at only £34.99. It was introduced as a cost effective alternative to the fully machined aluminium version. The SGS-100 Mk2 is 3D printed in PLA making it super lightweight yet durable. The Mk1 uses ever more expensive aluminium and has extensive machine shop costs to contend with. It has the very same functionality as the Mk1
The Mk2 can accommodate 5 different Vent Rib Widths 6, 8, 10, 12 & 12.7mm.
It has the same invincible method of clamping to the Vent Rib (4 screws at 10 degree incline), this locks it in place and doesn’t rely of friction.
Each of the 4 screws are gripped by the ant-vibration device shown below. The Stainless Steel Heli-Coil Screw-Lock Inserts. These inserts have a resilient locking mechanism that grips the screw preventing it from vibrating loose due to vibration. If you decide to remove the Sight there is no need to apply thread Locker. How does it work? You will see from the image below that the central coil shown coloured silver has âstraightâ segments or âchordsâ. When the screw enters, these chords flex outwards creating pressure on the screw preventing it from unwinding.
